Welcome to LIS 458! This course is designed to introduce you to the world of web design and development, with a focus on creating accessible and user-friendly websites. Throughout the semester, we will explore the fundamental principles of web design, learn how to code in HTML and CSS, and develop skills in using various web development tools and platforms. By the end of this course, you will have a solid foundation in web design and be able to create your own website from scratch.

- To know basic HTML code and elements of effective web design
- To be able to create and maintain webpages
- To evaluate webpages for accessibility, content, and performance
- To become familiar with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act and other ethical issues related to web development
- Understand the evolution of information environments.
